Let practice become a living experience again
Manang carries history, but its direction faces the present and the future. The campus is led by GarTul Chimi Dorjee Rinpoche, the third generation of the Mase family in Manang, appointed in 2019 by His Holiness the Drikung Chetsang Rinpoche. The question this project asks is:
What do we hope can happen in a person's life when they come here?
The buildings are not the answer. They are a platform
A place where history and love can be felt, and where someone can genuinely stop and reconnect with themselves.
Reconnect → Accept → Adjust → Harmony
Reconnection makes seeing possible. Seeing asks for acceptance. From acceptance, adjustment becomes possible. Through adjustment, greater harmony can emerge.
Rinpoche wants to root affection, love, respect, and warmth of heart. Architecture, programs and retreat structures should grow outward from this center.
Not only recited. Lived.
Rinpoche speaks of Dharma as living, breathing, experiential life: seeing pressure in the body, recognizing emotion, and becoming aware of awareness itself.
GarTul Chimi Dorjee Rinpoche
Rinpoche says Dharma does not distinguish who a person is. Whatever the background, someone who genuinely cares about these questions can find a place to begin.
First, let a few people go deep
Let genuine practice and understanding mature before expanding outward. Rinpoche wants a small core of people to practice deeply first, and to share from there.
